There is one thing that is very important with these rear brake calipers. When you push/turn the piston back you have to be careful. There is a "nose" which has to be in the right position to correctly fit onto the brake pad backing plate. The video by Haynes shows it. The shop manual says: "Make sure the piston location mark is in the correct position so that the locator pin on the brake pad backing plate locates correctly into the piston."

@@velthog a little late, but maybe this will help for someone in the future… changing the brakes now, and the left side (driver-side) caliper piston needed turned counter-clockwise.

I think Malone is referring to the handbrake cable... This step is missing, cable is not visible on the hook in this demonstration and seems to have been missed / skipped over.
how to get the nut loose? I have the 13 and 19 open end,but the nut is too tight and the #13 fits with a little play and when turned it slips off. What to do?

1. "Use special tool "to dent the brake piston caliper" - say what, lol? Perhaps "compress" might be a better term? 2. Sitting the caliper on a suspension member might work in a well lit garage with a lift, tool cart, ect. On a tilting driveway w/Jack stands, not so much. 3. DON'T put caliper slide pins in without a bit of new grease. That caliper will stick and wear the outside pad 2x as fast as the inside one. Fords typical product development, create an XJ "Mini-me" with the focus on image, not performance. Not a bad car at all, but not a great Jaguar either. The only thing DENTED here is the image of one Great Britain's crown jewels. I'm always amazed at amateur videos, where everything goes wrong, and instead of fixing it, they POST them! THIS, however, is supposed to be a "Pro demonstration" how to do a job. There is zero excuse for this.
The music is more distracting than helpful. I prefer a step by step discussion. Just a dust free, grease free environment is a bit unrealistic. No cleaning, lubrication, rust removal, etc. I think I'll move on from here. Guys, get it together if you're going to publish "how to" videos on RUclips.
I like the way everything comes off very easily without any need for a hammer. If only it was like that in the real world!
Thank you for the feedback! We are glad that our tutorial was useful for you. Best regards, Autodoc.
Yeap
U right

The error here is not torquing the lug bolts. Using impact wrench is not te right way. Also, it is appropriate to put anti-sieze on the lug bolts.

Why would you need to remove the brake line lmao moron...

how to get the nut loose? I have the 13 and 19 open end,but the nut is too tight and the #13 fits with a little play and when turned it slips off. What to do?
To unscrew the nut, use a penetrating lubricant and pliers. This nut must be replaced. Best regards, Autodoc.
use pliers hehehehehe @@autodocuk
Why did he not clean the mating surfaces up before fitting the new brake disc. You really should do this. Most important.

What caliper side pins? Did you mean pad pins?
